Children of God
Wonder is response to mystery, it prepares the heart to open and receive. It comes naturally to children; along with curiosity and a delight in life that can get lost, or is diminished, as we age. What did Christ mean when he said that we must become like children in order to enter the kingdom of heaven? Sometimes I think I grasp the meaning, but then it escapes again like a fluttering butterfly, and I lose sight of it amongst the sharp thorns and brambles.
It is the grasping that is mistaken, I think. Whereas it is in the not knowing, not presuming to understand, where I am finally found by Christ; in simple trust where I must remain, like a child, in the presence of this mystery. The Lord Jesus told Saint Faustina: “The graces of my mercy are drawn by one vessel, and that vessel is trustfulness.” He has provided us with all that we need to know, for now at least. I know that I do not know, and then the peace of Christ flows into the places where I am emptied. out.
This postcard is made with mixed papers, ink, and vintage flowers and design elements.
